On the 10th of July 2022 we had the honor to join an InsideEars member and be one of the first people to take a look at Disneyland Paris’ Avengers Campus! We tried most of the foods, rode the rides, experienced the entertainment en took a good look around to spot all the details about this brand new area at the Walt Disney Studios park. We spent 8 hours at Avengers Campus, so I think it’s save to say we’ve seen it all!
Conference
We started the day in a conference with some of the imagineers that worked on Avengers Campus. It was really cool to be in the same room as these people and see their enthusiasm while they talked about their journey to create this new addition to Walt Disney Studios park. In case you missed it, you can rewatch the conference right here.
Then around 12 a.m. it was time to enter the land itself and start to explore the Campus.
First impression
Our first impression was: “Wow this area looks so much bigger than it used to be”. It looked like a long boulevard with at the end a massive building with Friday and a building with the Quinjet on top. It looks very modern with all the different types of materials in the architecture and there is also a lot more greenery.
Attractions
Then it was time to try one of the new attractions: Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure.
We walked into the queue area and there is so much space to wait in line. All of the queu is covered, which is amazing in the European weather.
We could walk right up to the room with the pre-show with Peter Parker (Tom Holland). I immediately noticed that he spoke French, with was a bit weird at first, but Disney also provided a solution for with an Englisch translation. The pre-show is quite fun and explains the situation you’re in and why you’d have to help Spiderman.
After the pre-show is a lot more queue and before you get to the 3D glasses. Then it is time to enter the most amazing ride vehicles and start fighting the spiders. It was so much fun catching the spiders and we laughed, screamed and had such a great time.
You just have to use you’re hands and arms to make an arm movement to catch the spiders.. and trust me if you really try hard to help Spiderman you will have a great arm workout! We had so much fun, we went on 5 times on the attraction and if we had more time, we would have done the ride even more often.
We also went into the queue of the Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, which again is completely covered. The queue looks so modern and looks amazingly beautiful. This ride is located where the Rock’n’rollercoaster used to be, the same building and same tracks, but a different theme, look and vehicle.
Just like the Spider man ride, there is a pre show, but this time there is an amazing audio-animatronic of Iron man explaining the story of the ride together with Captain Marvel (who joins the show via a screen). We didn’t experience the ride itself, but used the moment to see the queue. We spoke to a couple of people saying it was a great ride, completely in the dark with screens used to project an all new story.
Food
One of the cool things of Avenger Campus is that there are a lot more unique food offerings than at some of the other places at both of the parks. There are 2 restaurants, P.Y.M. Kitchen is a buffet style restaurant with a lot of different food options with a fun twist, the food is available in different sizes.
As for the quick service restaurants there is Stark Factory, where you can get, pizza’s, pasta’s and salades and Super Diner, the former cafe des cascadeurs. There you can get grilled sandwiches, there is even a vegan option.
Last but not least there are multiple carts spread over the campus. There is one where you can get hotdogs, a vegan cookie and a cheesecake on a stick and there is also W.E.B. Worldwide Eating Brigade, where you can get noodles and atomic coco balls. There will be a food review soon.
Hero Training Center
And what would Disney be without meeting your favorite characters? But since we are at the Avengers Campus, there is no such thing as a meet and greet. You will train and learn with the Avengers.
The queue started outside the Hero Training Center building and once you’re inside you have to wait on benches until you are called to enter the next room. In the Hero Trainig Center are Photopass photographers present, but there is also a cool and special option where they take a little video of you and your hero in a pose. This might not be covered by your standard Photopass subscription.
Entertainment
One of the best things we expierenced at Avenger Campus was the fact that the heroes were everywhere around you. You could see your hero multiple times a day or even catch them in a show or transporting around the campus.
The Avengers provided us with multiple shows around the Campus and we also saw a couple them walk around casually and taking the time to talk and make pictures with guests.
In the full 8 hours we were at the Campus there was never a dull moment!
Note: We were in Avenger Campus during a press event and we are not sure if all the entertainment will continue like it did on this day.
Shopping
Avenger Campus has one shop: Mission Equipments, which is also the exit for Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure. The shop is divided in a couple of areas: one full of Spiderman merchandise and robotic spiders you can buy, one area where you can buy special tools for the ride, an area for general Marvel merchandise and as last there is also an Avenger Campus dedicated area.
Personally we think it will be very busy in the store, because it is the only store on the campus and also the exit of an attraction.
Details
We talked about a lot of the lands details already, but a few more things we want to point out.
The toilets are really big which and fancy, which was a very big plus. At the outside of the toilet building is a little water station with drinking fountain and a new fountain especially to fill your drinking bottles with water.
At the entrance of the land is a nice spot to take a picture and talk with one of the Avengers. Here we met the Wasp!
In between the store and the entrance of Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure is a huge area to put the strollers, again covered!
The Campus has two nice shaded terraces. One next to Stark Factory and then other one nearby the Super Diner.
There are a couple of benches and a very big seating area across the stroller parking.
After a ride or a hero encounter you’ll find booths where you can buy the attraction or encounter photo or video via a computerscreen. This saves a lot of time waiting in line.
Conclusion
There is so much more to see and explore in Avengers Campus Paris than we expected! We’ve had a blast and spent little more than 8 hours on the Campus only. We really hope you’ll like it as much as we do. If you have any questions please let us know in the comments or messages us on our instagram.
Avenger Campus Paris will be opening to the public on the 20th of July at Disneyland Paris!
