The reopening of Hong Kong Disneyland

Another Disney Resort reopening date has been announced and this time we are all about the reopening of the Disney Resort in Hong Kong. The park will reopen Thursday June 18th from 10.30 until 19.30. we are so excited to see more and more park reopen after so long.

Lets begin with information about the castle refurbishment. Hong Kong had the exact same castle as the Sleeping Beauty castle at the original Disneyland resort park in Anaheim. In 2016 they announced a refurbishment of the castle which would include multiple princesses, which a unique for a Disney park castle. The castle will pay a tribute to 13 princesses and heroines including, Snow White, Rapunzel, Tiana, Aurora, Merida, Anna and Elsa, Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas, Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, and Moana and will be called, the Castle of Magical Dreams. It seems like they are still on schedule since the construction is in its final stage.

Also their guests with Annual Passes ( Magic Acces Memberships) who are affected by the closure of the park will get an extension based on their type of pass.

  • Guests with a platinum membership will get an extension of 174 days.
  • Guests with a Gold membership will get an extension of 176 days.
  • Guests with a Silver membership will get an extension of 164 days.

Let’s have a look at the entertainment. Lion king, Jedi Training, Wonderous Book and Moana will all have performances. Parade’s and character greetings are cancelled during the reopening phase.

The Disneyland Resort line will resume service on 17 June, the day before Hong Kong Disneyland’s reopening.

Guests will also have to make a health declaration before they are able to reserve a visiting date. Read here all about it.
