Food Review | Halloween season 2019

Earlier this year we made a special Halloween food guide, on where to find snacks, food options and beverages. Of course we had to try some of that special Halloween season snacks during our last trip.

Let’s start with the food review!

Croque Monsieur

@wearelostinthemagic

The first thing we tried was the Halloween themed Croque Monsieur. A grilled cheese sandwich, with orange and black colored bread an a slice of cheese in the middle. A very simple and fun snack, but also kind of pricey.

For 6,99 you get two thick slices of bread with Gouda cheese, but no sauce or anything, just a plain Croque Monsieur. The taste was pretty good, the bread wasn’t too dry and the cheese tastes really good. We shared the Croque Monsieur and where still kind of hungry afterwords, but for one person it’ll be a great snack.

Pumpkin Soup

At various stands at the parks you could get yourself a warm cup of soup for 3,99. We bought ours at Frontierland near Fuente Del Oro. You get the soup in a large halloween themed paper bucket (with all the villans on it) and a bamboo spoon. It’s a watery soup with a bean and pumpkin taste to it, not so much a creamy pumpkin soup as we hoped. But we still liked it and it’s a nice “cheap” snack to fill your belly and stay warm at the same time.

Pumpkin Dessert

We knew that there was a really cute pumpkin dessert available if you bought the green burger menu (menu 4) at Cafe Hyperion and En Coulisse. Since we are both vegetarian we were kind of sad that we didn’t get to try this dessert. But once we arrived at Cafe Hyperion for a snack we saw that you could also buy the dessert separately for 4,99. So Pelle had to try it and wow, he wasn’t disappointed at all. It’s a chocolate mouse, spray painted with orange and a red substance in the middle, that he couldn’t figure out, but really liked.

Once we arrived at the Market House Deli, we saw a couple of Halloween cupcakes, a piece of Halloween themed carrot cake and Halloween themed cookies that weren’t announced, but looked very delicious.

Halloween themed carrot cake

They also had this carrot cake last Halloween season and we also gave it a taste test back then, but we liked it so much last year that we bought it again, We’re both not really fans of raisins, so when we found out that this years version was raisin free, we got really excited. This is a really nice carrot cake with small pieces of nuts and a thick layer of orange icing on top of it which makes the cake super creamy.

We also saw a orange shaped mickey cakepop and a Mickey cookie with some orange toppings at the Candy Palace at Main Street, which weren’t announced either, but we didn’t got to try those.

Unfortunately we couldn’t try any of the Halloween menus since we are both vegetarians, hopefully this will change next year.

Have you tried any of these Halloween snacks?
