We have mentioned the Official Disneyland Paris App a lot on our blog to check the wait times, park maps, to find restaurants and other information. But there are more apps available which do the exact same thing. On our last trip in February we tried the app MagiPark to review for you and here is what we think of it.
The app can be used in different languages (Chinese, Dutch, English, German, Italian, Japanese, Portugese and Spanish ) and will pick your language automatically for you.
This App is especially for Disneyland Paris and is free to download from the Appstore. It isn’t availible for Android yet (?).
Wait times.
When you open the app you will instantly see the actual wait times for Disneyland Paris. Which is very convenient when your walking thru the parks and want to check the wait times very fast.
You will see all the wait times underneath each other. The rides with the longest (+ 60 min ) wait times are on the top and have a red color and the rides with a medium wait time are beneath that with an orange color (30 – 55 min). Beneath orange is a green list with all the rides who have a short wait time. (0 – 25 min)
This gives you a very nice overview in just one blink at this app. And is something which we have used a lot during our trip. The app will even show you if the wait times are going down or up or are stable.
If you compare this to the official Disneyland Paris App, this is a lot faster and gives you a much better overview of the wait times in the entire park.
You can even give you’re favorite ride a heart and if you put on notifications you will know instantly when the wait times are low or high and will even let you know when the ride has a defect.
There are separated lists for Disneyland park and Walt Disney Studio’s which is super convenient and the best thing is you don’t have to scroll over the park maps to find the ride you’re looking for.
You can also find the wait times on the park map, just like in the official Disneyland Paris app. But this doesn’t really work for us.
Park map
You’ll be able to find all the ride’s including wait times in a regular photo, and locations on restaurants, shops and service points.
If you really use this feature in the parks, we suggest to use the map from the official Disneyland Paris App, because it is much more logical and ordered and it’s a lot easier to find what you’re looking for.
We haven’t used this feature during our trip.
Restaurants
They also have a list with all the restaurant in a row. You will see the pricing, opening times and if you have to make reservation. There is even an option to see which one of the restaurants is closest to you.
If you click on a restaurant you can see what they serve or a small description of the restaurant. You will also be able to see which grade people gave to the restaurant, the opening times of that day and the location of the restaurant.
We think this is a really great feature and shows you all the information in the blink of an eye.
Conclusion
Will it replace the official Disneyland Paris App? No, because the Disneyland Paris app has a lot more features, like buying Tickets, Fastpasses and the Park map is clearer and more beautiful displayed, than the one used for MagiPark.
But we will definitely keep using MagiPark for the wait times feature and the overview of the restaurants because it is a lot faster to use than the Disneyland Paris App and gives you a much better overview of the wait times around the entire park.
And we also really love the fact you can put on notifications for the rides you want to go on.
So our conclusion is, It won’t replace the official Disneyland Paris app, but it is a great addition. We suggest to use both of the app’s during your trips to get the best out of your day.
