Review: Toy Story Play Days Disneyland Paris | 2019

From  June 18th until June 28th, The Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris were all about the Toy Story Play days, celebrating that thee new Toy Story 4 movie is in theaters right now!

We got to experience this little season at the last two days, June 27th and 28th. Let’s have a look and see how the Toy Story Play days where!

Overall expierence:

Right now, there are a lot of constructions going on for the expansion of the Walt Disney Studios Park. And there are also a couple of rides closed for refurbishment, so the overall experience at this park isn’t optimal. Lots of people where located at the same location which made it really crowded. During the 11 days that the Playdays happened it was extremely hot in the whole of Europe, so also at the Studios Park. Almost everyone was located at the Toy Story Playland, which is really small and combined with the heat it wasn’t really nice to stay there for long and take your time to wander around.

Meets

Basically the Playdaays were a promotion for the new Toy Story movie and the fact that you can have a meet and greet with Bo Peep in her new costume for the first time ever! So this entire season was focussed on meeting the Toy Story characters, Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lighyear, Forky and Bo Peep. But because of the state of the WDS park everyone was in line to see the characters.

Food

There where lots of cool themed cookies and sweetened apples available which you could get at multiple food charts around the park and also at the Disneyland Park, so everyone could enjoy these cool looking treats. We really wanted to have Forky, but unfortunately they where sold out already, so we got a Woody and Jessie cookie and since it was Lisanne’s birthday we got them for free! That was such a magical experience.

The cookies were just like the Marvel cookies (which you could still get at the parks.) Two cookies with Nutella in between, simple but so delicious and fun to look at!

Forky’s Scavanger Hunt – app

A really nice detail they added was an app. This app was specially made for these 11 days, only at Disneyland Paris. You had to go to three locations at the Studios Park and once you were at that specific location you had to do some mini games like finding differences, finding objects at that spot or memory. When you completed that location you could go to the next one. This was a really fun extra, but we didn’t see anyone playing it and they also didn’t advertise with it, so we don’t think a lot of people used the app. Now the Playdays are over, the app already disappeared from the app store.

Overal Ambiance

It was really nice that there was something going on at the  Walt Disney Studios Park since there are so many rides closed. It is also a really fun way to make advertisement for a movie and a nice way to have a meet and greet with Toy Story characters. There were also some soldiers throughout the day to have fun with the guests.
