That a trip to a Disney Park can get really expensive is something everyone knows. And that’s why a lot of people think we are crazy for going so many times a year. But because we go that often we learned a few tricks to save a bit of money. We wrote a couple of them down for you, so you can save that extra bit of money on your next trip to Disneyland Paris.
So the most expensive things during your trip are tickets, staying overnight, merchandise and food. Here are some tricks on how we save money on those things:
Annual Passes
As you might know, we own Annual Passes for Disneyland Paris. We live in The Netherlands and it’s a 6 hour drive to Disneyland Paris. A lot of Dutch people think we are crazy. But if they visit they will pay much more for their single trip than we do for one of our trips.
So how does this work? If you plan a trip to Disneyland Paris most of the people will go for 3 of 4 days and buy tickets for both of the parks (hopper).
3 day (hopper) tickets for 2 adults will cost you 422,- and that’s only for the parks. You will also pay 90,- for parking (30,- per day) which gives you a total of 512,- for just the tickets and parking.
Take a look at the Annual Passes: we pick Magic Flex because it is a better choice for this example. They cost 518,- together and you can go to Disneyland Paris as much as you want (except for the blockout days) and park your car for free.
That’s not it, you will get 10% off at the shops, and you can bring a friend or family member with a discount.
So if you would stay for one more day or just buy some merchandise, you already have some profit.
Quick Service Restaurants
There are a couple of different restaurant options at Disneyland Paris. You have Dinner shows, Quick service, character dining and buffets and table service location. But keep in mind, that all the food at any Disney park isn’t really cheap.
But if you want to do Disney on a budget you should go for the Quick Service options. There are multiple options throughout both of the parks and also at Disney Village. A Quick Service location, is basically just like a mc Donalds. You can pick from a menu and wait until the food is ready and go with a tray of food to a table, eat and clean up after yourself.
This is just the cheapest option. There is also a hidden McDonalds at Disney Village, which serves “cheap” meals as well.
You can find a couple of reviews of Quick service restaurants on our blog.
Sharing a menu
We often share a menu to save some money but also because the potion sizes are pretty big for a lunch for example. So we often buy breakfast in a near by supermarket and share a menu at a quick service location and for dinner we both will have our own menu. Or if we are really hungry during the lunch, we will order both our own menu and share during dinner. This will just save you a little extra money.
Breakfast outside Disneyland Paris or Disney Resort Hotel
Like we just mentioned, we just buy our breakfast at a supermarket near by. You can buy big boxes of croissants and Pair o chocolate which will last you for a couple of days.
But a lot of hotels offer free breakfast, so always check while you’re booking your stay.
Bring your own snacks and beverages.
This is something that can save you lots of money and is super easy to do. Just bring your own water bottle and some snacks. A bottle of water will cost you already 3 euro.
If you really want to drink something cold, we go to the Mc Donald at Disney Villages because the beverages are just a little cheaper.
Buy merchandise before hand
You can buy cute Disney merchandise everywhere these days, so try to buy some cute stuff before you go to Disneyland Paris. Especially when you have kids, toys and dresses are pretty expensive at the parks, so try to buy some before you bring your kids to the store. ;p
Staying overnight
There are so many options on how you can stay over night at and around Disneyland Paris. You can stay on property, but this is the most expensive option, but sometimes there are some great offers available.
You can also stay at a partner hotel, that’s an hotel that isn’t on Disney property and also isn’t from the Disney Company, but has some cooperation with each other. These hotel are already a lot cheaper than the Disneyland Paris ones and some of them has Disney stores located in the hotels and all of the transport to and from Disneyland Paris are free.
Then there are also a lot of neighborhood hotel’s. Hotels that have nothing to do with Disney and some of them don’t offer free transport as well. But there are still some great options around and it is also a lot cheaper.
Next up is camping. It isn’t the first thing you might think about when you’re planning you Disney trip, but it cam save you a lot of money and it is also a really nice way to get out of the craziness of Disney. We have done this a couple of times and we think it’s a really great option and is cheaper than most of the hotels.
We hope we have given you a couple of tips you can use to save some money on your next Disneyland Paris trip.
