Our favourite rides in Magic Kingdom WDW

In April 2018 we went on our very first trip to Walt Disney World. We had such a blast so we created a list with all the attractions in Magic Kingdom to share our thoughts with you.

Unfortunately we couldn’t visit every attraction in this list. If there’s an x, the ride was closed, very busy or didn’t have FastPass.

Adventureland:

  • Swiss Family Tree House – X
  • The Magic Carpets – X
  • Jungle Cruise – This boat tour ride through the Jungle was originally designed for Disneyland Anaheim. And was present at the Magic Kingdom’s opening day Magic Kingdom back in 1971. This ride has such a rich history so we had to try it for ourselves!
  • Walt Disney’s Tiki Room – X
  • Pirates of the Caribbean – We are huge fans of this ride in Disneyland Paris, so we were thrilled to see the differences between the too rides.

Frontierland:

  • Splash Mountain- X
  • Big Thunder Mountain – X

Liberty Square:

  • Liberty Square River Boat – X
  • Tom Sawyer Island – X
  • Haunted Mansion – We are really big fans of the Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris. In fact it’s our favourite ride. We loved it! The ride has amazing animatronics, music and the ride itself is longer than in Disneyland Paris, so that’s a big plus. It’s amazing how the stretching rooms really seem to stretch, while it’s not acutely stretching. We loved it even better than the Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris, but it’s getting a refurbishment at the moment, so we hope it gets as good as the Haunted Mansion, or even better? ;p

Fantasyland:

  • It’s a Small World – We thought it was kinda weird that the ride is hidden in a medieval themed tent. In almost all the other Disney parks it’s such a beautiful building, so we weren’t expecting to see it was hidden away. The ride itself was satisfying and thanks to more Disney themed characters it is much more fun than the one in Disneyland Paris. It’s also nice that the Pinochhio Village House restaurant is overlooking the waiting queue. In the restaurant there were signs with “smile or wave” to entertain the guests in the queue.
  • Peter Pan’s flight – Fun indoor ride, again very hidden. It was very similar to the one in Disneyland Paris. There were a couple of differences like the lighting. The one in Disneyland Paris is very dark and the one in Walt Disney World was very light and colourful and had an extra scene with the mermaid lagoon.
  • Mickey’s Philarmagic: We had no idea what to except and it was just amazing! We loved the story, the songs and the screen who got wider and wider. It was such a great show, with short waiting times. We had a great laugh, a must do!
  • Prince Charming Regal Carrousel – X
  • Enchanted Tales with Belle – Again we didn’t know what to expect. We loved the theming and imeginering of this place. It is so cool, to be able to walk in Belle’s house and see the decor and really feel like you’re there. Once we were in a room where a story got told on a mirror, we were blown away by the fact that the mirror, turned out to be a doorway. Still can’t get over it. It was amazing to meet the Wardrobe and Belle.
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – This is hands down our favourite ride in this park. It is a very smooth rollercoaster ride and so much fun to see the Dwarfs work in the mine and sing their well known song. We went on this ride for up to four times. There was one downside to this ride and that were the waiting times, make sure you get a Fastpass.
  • The Many Adventure Of Winnie The Pooh – Lisanne is a huge Pooh fan and we were thrilled to finally get to ride a Pooh ride, for the very first time and we loved every second of it! It’s such a nice family ride. The ride is very simple but so much fun. For sure one of our favourites!
  • Under the sea- Journey of the little mermaid – This was also a first time for us, a ride themed after Ariel! We were really lucky because there were no queue’s the times we went. (Yes, I said times. ;)) It is an amazing ride with awesome animatronics, catchy music and a happy ending!
  • Mad Tea Party – X
  • Dumbo The Flying Elephant – X
  • The Barnstormer – X

Tomorrowland:

  • Tomorrowlands Speedway – X
  • Space mountain – X
  • Astro Obiter – X
  • Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover – This was an attraction was very high on our to do list. As big Disney fan’s we were really excited to go on the People Mover a ride made and designed by Walt himself. And we loved it!
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – X
  • Monsters inc. Laugh Floor – Once again we had no idea what to expect, but wow, this was such a funny attraction. It made me think of a better version from Stich Live in Disneyland Paris, sorry Stich. It was very interactive and was much more up to date than Stich live in Disneyland Paris.
  • Stich’s Great Escape – X

So.. that where all the rides in Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World. As said earlier, we weren’t able to go in all of the rides. So we can’t wait to go back and check out the other rides.

Have you done them all?
